One Question to Ask Yourself to Be a Successful Entrepreneur

Uncategorized Dec 14, 2020

There are probably A LOT of reasons behind your decision to become an entrepreneur, am I right??

You’re a passionate, highly intelligent human that wants to make a true difference in the health and happiness of the world around you --- that’s one of your top reasons, I’m sure!

But what about the fact that it makes you happy?

That it’s actually what you WANT to be doing with your time, your energy, and your gifts?

Sometimes, as independent entrepreneurs, it can be easy for us to get caught up in the “doing” part of our business, causing us to get overwhelmed and experience a shift in the mindset we have toward our mission.

Negative thoughts can sneak in and cause us to start feeling a lot of uncomfortable pressure if things aren’t perfect, instead of allowing us to feel grateful and excited about the fact that we get to do them - we get to chase our dreams!

Well, not to sound dramatic, but this ONE mindset shift literally governs all of our success in life and truly determines whether or not we actually succeed in our business.

Think about it - if you are only focusing on what you don’t want in your business or life and you spend all of your time obsessing over what doesn’t feel good then your thoughts and actions will line up with those things and you will create more of the same.

Don’t believe me?! Take it from Tony Robbins who says, “wherever our focus goes, your energy flows.”

The good news is: there is one insanely simple question out there that you can ask yourself, over and over again, during times of doubt or struggle to get you back on track and back to doing what actually works for you.

Sounds amazing, right??

So… What is The Question:

“What am I available for?”

What TF are you actually available to show up for??

And, as a follow-up, what does this question show you that you ARE NOT available for?

In this blog post, we will dive deep into this insanely powerful question, and my 4 tips on how to answer it for yourself, and how to apply it all to your business and your future.

You will learn how this method can help you shift your mindset into one of always staying positive in your business and making sure that it continues to serve you, in every aspect of your life.

AND you will walk away with techniques to set boundaries for yourself and get over any mindset blocks that are keeping you from fulfilling your ultimate mission.

Sound good?! Let’s get started!

Tip #1: Get clear on where you’re putting your energy.

We get to bring in the type of income, clients, relationships, etc that we are available for.

We get to determine our reality.

It is imperative that we switch our thought process from “things happen TO US” to the idea that we “GET TO” do the things required for us to achieve our goals and live our dream life.

We get to create boundaries and determine what kind of business we want to run and how involved we are.

We get to decide what our perfect life looks like and the steps it takes to get from where we are now to there.

We get to be really clear on the relationships we want to have in our lives, romantic or otherwise, and ask those around us to fulfill those roles.

What I see people focus on is everything that they DON’T have (or what they’re not available for).

But the truth about our focus is:

The more you focus on the lack of something in your life, or how difficult it is to achieve it, the more you believe that it’s difficult and the easier it becomes for you to go down the negative spirals of:

“I can’t do this, it’s not going to work, this isn’t meant for me...”

and the more your actions and behaviors start to align with those thoughts.

When you start acting out of “I can’t”, you will fulfill your own prophecy.

And it’s totally okay if you’ve had these thoughts! WE ALL HAVE!

But, if we were able to just be aware of these feelings and get to the root of WHY we’re feeling them then we can shift to asking ourselves:

  • What AM I available for?
  • Am I available for my business to get easier?
  • To get more clients?
  • To make a massive impact?

Or am I closing myself off to these things because I’m so focused on them not happening?

Tip #2: Get real about your current circumstances and how you feel about them.

Get super fucking honest with yourself, love.

  • What are the things that are good and that make you feel so amazing?

  • What are some things that you wish weren’t part of your business journey?
    • Maybe you had an awkward coaching call that resulted in someone not signing.
    • Or maybe you had a launch that didn’t go quite as planned.
    • Or maybe
    • Write down everything you can think of

  • Now, re-visit that “bad list”:

How can you re-write these things so that, instead of focusing on why they sucked or what you wish was different about them, you begin to shift your focus to what you ARE available for?

  • Are you only available for coaching calls with leads that you connect with?

  • Are you only available for clients that are insanely aligned with you and ready to take action for themselves?

  • Define WHAT and WHO you are available for. This shouldn’t stop at business! Take this into your relationships, your lifestyle. Anything that makes up your human experience is within this control!

Tip #3: Define what success means to you.

This is unique to each and every one of us!

If you’re not sure yet, work through these questions:

  • What needs to happen in order for you to feel fucking amazing?

  • What do you need in order to show up powerfully and get things done?

Allow yourself some flexibility here - this may change every day.

Maybe today success means doing all the things… But tomorrow it means taking a 3-hour nap, doing yoga, and eating good food.

Both of these days are successful AF and got you closer to thriving if that’s what you so choose!

Do this surrounding your relationships - with your clients, your friends/family, YOURSELF - because your support system is absolutely KEY in not just succeeding but enjoying the life and success that you create for yourself.

Dictate what boundaries you need to set in each of these relationships and be fearless in communicating them. Your people will respect TF out of you and the boundaries you set - anyone that doesn’t just isn’t one of your people, my love!

So, now that you have THE QUESTION, the permission to set your boundaries wherever TF you want, and the support to confidently go after it… what will you do next?!
