4 Steps to Building a Business WITHOUT Perfect Launches

Welcome to one of my FAVORITE blog posts! 

In this one, I'm going to present a radical idea to you.... are you ready?

OK, here it goes - You DO NOT have to have a million sold-out launches in order to be successful in your business... or make a lot of freakin' money.

I know, I know, that's not what your last business coach said, right?? Or that one chick you follow on IG that always "fills up her client roster 2 days into her launch with 0 objections", amIright?  

Well, I'm here to tell you, love, that it is absolutely possible to: 

  • Be insanely successful at what you do 
  • Get your clients the results they deserve
  • AND make the money of your dreams...

....ALL WITHOUT EVER HAVING A "PERFECT LAUNCH".

If so, keep reading as I take you through the step-by-step process I've used to build a product suite that supports me, my clients, and my dream income in a sustainable way, even though I have never (ever, ever, ever) had a launch go the way I had planned. 

Step 1 - Reflect on what you have available in your product suite right now:

When trying to avoid the constant launch game, the goal transitions from lead generation to meeting the needs of your current & future clients, fully, so that I have a product suite that helps them at multiple stages throughout their journey.

That way I don't have to keep looking for new clients over and over again! 

So, start with answering the following questions, super honestly: 

>>>  What type of programs do you currently have?
(Scroll down for a list of possible products and containers you could have in your suite)

Could a client move seamlessly from one product to the next?
Do they support each one another to provide supplemental or additional knowledge? 

>>> What did you sell this year?

Make sure to always have a finance and sales tracker to get an overview here! 
How did you sell them? Did you feel like you had to launch every single one of them?
Do you have any clients in multiple containers?

>>> What went well? 

What do you love to be a part of?
What really gets your clients the transformation you're looking for? 

>>> What holes are present in your customer journey that could be filled?

When your clients get done with their first experience with you, what's next?? 
Do you have options for leads that aren't quite ready for your main offer?
(This is so important, continue reading to Step 3 to find out why!)

Step 2 - Get clear on what you actually want: 

>>>  What is your ideal number of clients at the end of each year, in each of your products?

How many can you ENERGETICALLY handle? 
 
>>> What is your yearly monetary goal?

DO NOT SHORT YOURSELF!! I don't care how "crazy" of a number you come up with, PUT IT DOWN!


>>> How close/far are you from it for 2020?

>>> Think about your actual interaction with your clients: 

Do you want to work with clients one-on-one?
Or do you prefer a group setting? 
Would you rather be totally hands-off and provide DIY options? 
Or do you want to be in front of as many people as possible and are looking for workshops or opportunities to franchise and license out your services?


There is no right or wrong way to answer any of these questions!


It is all based on what YOU want, what YOU can successfully show up for, and how YOU can pass along your transformation to others in the most effective way possible. 

 

Step 3 - Piece together a product suite that fits you and your clients perfectly:

 

Start at your ideal income and fill it in backward from there!

How much do you NEED to show up 100% and give your clients the service and transformation they deserve?
Again, I promise there is no wrong answer! Nothing is too much, love.


PRO TIP
 
- When you're figuring out pricing for yourself, remember to not just think of the time that you're WITH the client, think about all of the time, prep, energy, supplies, and education that you're putting into it way before the interaction ever happens 


Here are some examples of products you could supplement into your suite: 
(Choose as many or as few options as you see fit!)

>>> 1:1 Coaching -

There can even be multiple options within this one container.

You could have a high ticket/high touchpoint, m
edium ticket/medium touchpoint, and/or lowest ticket/lowest touchpoint. 

**Make sure to respect the level of touchpoint when serving your client and be very clear as to the kind of involvement you will have. 

>>> Group Coaching - 

I recommend beginning at 5-8 humans in your first ever group coaching container, especially if you're meeting weekly and you have additional 1:1 clients. I know it's exciting to throw down some big numbers but always respect your energy and focus on showing up to provide epic transformations.

If you start out with a ton of clients and give all of your energy away then you are not giving any space for growth and you will get burnt tf out and that's not good for anyone. 

>>> DIY Courses - 

Utilize smaller ticket items, like DIY courses or the add-ons listed below, to get your followers used to purchasing things from you and getting quick wins through your process!

The more simple and the more easily obtainable the win, the better. 


>>> Add on's to supplement existing products - 

Retreats, extra 1:1 sessions, intensives, access to DIY programs, small group coaching in addition to 1:1 containers, live events, conferences, public speaking, workshops... the list goes on. 

You could even mold your program into a required development tool for corporations and businesses - DON'T SHORT YOURSELF! You're out here changing the effing world! 

>>> Freebies & Lead Generation - 

These are typically your first touchpoint with a new lead and how they're introduced to your brand and should contain the first piece or the first small transformation of your overall process.  


As you build everything out, think of how you would take your EXISTING clients through this suite. How 

Now put it all together. When you have chosen all of the programs you would like to include then ask yourself:

What amount of people, ideally, would I want in it? 

Based on that, how much would this program bring in for me in a year?

How far away from my goal is that?

What can I adjust?

For example: 

If you start with a high ticket/high touchpoint 1:1 coaching container in which you charge $500 per month per person and your ideal # of 1:1 clients is 6 per month then you would make $3,000 per month, $36,000 per year.

If your goal is $100,000 per year then you have an opportunity to fill in $64,000.

What combination of products could you combine to make that happen?

+ 2-Day Workshop (Done ONE TIME per month) - $300 per person x 20 people x 12 times per year = $72,000

DONE. 

Step 4 - ALWAYS THINK EXPANSIVELY: 

>>> EXPANSIVE - expanding your team, your reach, your impact, your everything! 

Think big! If your service is something that a lot of people need then start making it mandatory!

Don't be afraid to approach franchises, schools, businesses, groups, and let them know: I have something every single one of your employees needs.

I have a client right now that will accept thousands of dollars at once from a company to make her message mandatory training for everyone and they pay FOR their employees because they can see the importance and the long-term impacts that her vision can have on their overall community. No launching necessary.

We are here to make SERIOUS, LIFE-LONG CHANGE. 

We are here to make the world a better place. 

There is no shortage of humans that need YOUR message.
